dont worry.. i do realise that chinese new year day has passed a few days ago.. still.. im sure everyone is still in the chinese new year mood.. putting on 10kg's along the way.. possibly poorer or richer by a few hundred dollars from gambling. Possibly have liver poisoning by now from all the alchohol.. possibly gained a few hundred dollars even if you lost in gambling.. couz you had quite a fair bit of ang pows.. possibly falling sick from all the hardcore 'house visiting'. or possibly having a sore throat due to too much 'mandarin' eating... nevertheless, the chinese new year spirit is still there.
i was actually alrite.. celebrating it alone. wasnt plannin to do anything at all.. till my mum called me .. and the conversation went like this
mum: Gong hei fatt choi
me: gong hei fatt choi
mum: we are all here having dinner now, say hi to your uncles and aunties!
me: Hi.
mum: What you doing over there..
me: nothing.. stay at home and watch dvd and sleep
mum: wah.. cannot like that wan..
me: nyeh!
mum: got so much food here.. so nice. we bought roast duck, roast pork, chicken.. everything!
me: thanks mum for making my life more miserable
mum: heehee.... ok.. i call you later la.. we are about to low the yeesang now
background: MA! FASTER! LOW A LOW A
me: haih.
to make things better. mum called me few hours later.. and the convo went like this
mum: guess what we are doing?
me: dunno
mum: GAMBLING..passes phone to cousin
cousin1: win a... why you not here.. haih.. miss you la.. we all gambling.. fatt choi fatt choi
cousin2: win a.. cannot fatt choi la.. i losing money!
cousin3: man.. you should bring your crew(izzaz and viv) no fun without you!
me: .. erm.. ok
mum: ok la.. just to call you to tell you we are gambling.. take care
me: THANKS.. bleeek
so yeah.. got depressed man.. and what did i do then! on impulse.. went and eat thai food with a friend of mine.. haha.. 35 pounds man.. i reckon its my most exp meal to day(that i have paid for).. ah well. its chinese new year.. went up to london.. which was fun ... wont go on anymore. the photos should explain everything.

Four seasons.. EVERYONE.. this is the best place for duck.. EVER! dont believe me just ask anyone from london! by far the best place for duck.. better than the ones in melb or even in malaysia man!
As you can see.. the whole of chinatown is just filled with lanterns everywhere!

i used to go to the four seasons in bayswater but i think that's a different one in the picture. anyhoos, the ducks weren't that great last i went.
so charm... my first cny away in england was pretty miserable. noone knew what it was and i spent it eating maggi curry and drinking a fanta lemon with my japanese friend.
i think yours was a bit better, right?

werent that great.. are you kidding.. seriously.. i have tried so many different places for ducks man.. be it in shanghai.. beijing. hongkong.. guangzhou.. malaysia.. melbourne .. everywhere.. and this place is the best i reckon...

i did like the heong sou ngap in magic wok in bayswater. can only order half or full duck so my mum and i went once and all we had was half duck.
Super bao bao (full) after that.
and yeah.. that cny was quite depressing but the nearest asian store was an hour away (either london or portsmouth)
the one in beijing... serious? i went to the most famous one in beijing (well, thats what the hotel ppl and taxi drivers said) think it was called quan ji de or something like that. and man.. it was a disapointment.. ah well.. but nah man.. four seasons rox.. at least im sure its better than.. pacific house.. and other duck places in melb! still.. no spicy chicken on rice from dessert house.. if only they had dessert house here.. hmm.. should open a chain! confirm earn money wan!
LOL..I had the most unchinese new year chinese new year of ma life too ! Spent the whole time working :( Oh well, the chinatown celebrations were quite cool ! Sigh~THere's no place to be but home durin cny la!dung dung dung chiang
