yes yes.. im still into chick flicks..
its actually not bad.. not bad at all. katherine heigl... HOT! HOT stuff..

However, after watching the movie, i suddenly realise that.. i wouldnt really want my future partner to be watching too many chick flicks.. especially ones that involve weddings...

the reason why im saying this is because... looks at all the weddings in chick flicks! its absolutely ridiculous.. its always set at some amazing location (boat house, boat, huge cathedral, on top of the empire state building or some other random tall building overlooking all the sky scrapers of new york city, at some really nice garden on a nice spring day, on a plane, small church with small reception).. well. you get the point... you know.. those type of weddings in chick flicks.. where the girls will be ... awwwwwwwwwww.... i want a wedding just like that!

How in the world am i , or just about any other male in malaysia ... suppose to pull off a wedding like that. Looking back at my brothers wedding... sure.. it was a good wedding for malaysian standards.. church wedding followed by a big 100 table reception dinner at sheraton hotel... with lots and lots of good alcohol to sink everyone in the mood...

But thats besides the point.. the wedding was good.. for malaysian standards... but not up to par .. with.. chick flicks standards!

you cant find a boat house in malaysia.. why would you anyways? the sea is so dirty.. there arent many lakes.. definitely no lakes with a boat house... as for boats.. there are no boats big enuff to fit 1000 people in it.. dinner at the top of a tall building... let me think.. kl tower? looking out at all the polution that malaysia has.. hmm.. dont think so.. nice little garden? in the afternoon.. boy will you be sweating your arse off...

not looking forward to it.. its going to be hard aint it? all girls want their proposal/wedding to be their dream wedding ... yet i already can see how mine(if it actually happens) will turn out to be.. 100 tables.. more than half of them filled with random relatives/ clients/ dads friends/moms friends/ parents in law friends/ staff/randoms that i wouldnt have met in my life.. or possibly met them.. a couple of times at most... me having to face my fears of 'stage fright' and actually making a speech.. a serious speech showing my love to my partner, how i met my partner, my love for my parents and my career...future..etc whilst acknowledging the crowd , showing my appreciation for their attendance etc....

top that up with lots of bottles of alcohol, some random lady singing random songs from the 70's or even 60's... an emcee who talks in 8 different languages, a standard hotel chinese meal course that includes soup, fish, fried rice, mushroom with vegies, roast chicken, the '4 seasons' cold appetizer thingi, followed by fried redbean/lotus pancake and some random 'tong sui' to top everything off...

finally, me and my future partner having to change outfits .. 5 times during the course of the dinner, to pour champagne into a full tower stacked with champagne glasses, cake cutting, and lots .. lots of yum seng-ing with every table.. trying to stay sober along the way by passing drinks needed to be downed to your 'heng tais' to finish... and last but not least... lots ... lots of hand shaking with everyone.. as they leave.. whilst saying words such as "thank you for coming", "thank you so much(angpow)", "hope you enjoyed the night","why leaving so early", "have somemore drinks", "sorry i didnt spend that much time with you, i had to go around and see everyone" .. you get the point...

so yeah.. as much as chick flicks are really nice to watch.. im really really hoping that all the girls out there aint brainwashes by it... and are not hoping for such a wedding.. cause if they are.. boy.. am i going to be single for a long long long long time! especially after writing this post...

i don't think many girls have thought out their weddings quite as much as you have.
