freezing cold in london right now, but feels really great to be here, meeting old friends from IH(sheanee, zhen hong, andrew yeo, kim, pat etc) so yeah, brings back that warm fuzzy feeling!

but yeah... soon... its time to head back to exeter... and back to my work.. haih...

only consolation would be having my bed back! cant wait to actually sleep on my bed again...

china...

swear if my dad reads this, its the end of me...

no doubt about it... im proud to be a chinese... proud to be a malaysian chinese.. and proud just to be part of such a rich cultured, traditional population in general...

even more proud that china is one of the strongest economy in the world (3rd behind japan(2nd) and america)... am happy that everyone is actually noticing china as it storms through...

nevertheless, was chating with daniel about well.. mainland chinese people, and some of the issues i think needs urgent addressing...

this generation.. the whole one child policy.. fair enuff, its needed to be done to reduce the population rate of china and to stabilize everything up.. nonetheless, people still have more than 1 kids.. they are just not registered.. people say china's population is around 1.3 billion..but if you add those who arent registered.. possibly 1.4 or even more...

and what happens with like.. if there was an earthquack or anything liek that.. such as the one in sze chuan province.. what happens to those parents.. who loses their child... and thats it.. no more for them...

or even worse... the whole melamine issue... its just absolutely embarrasing...

for many of the mainland china people that i know.. within my generation.. they are mostly.. spoilt and just absolutely naive.. trapped in their little bubble without having a single clue of whats happening outside of that bubble...

all they do, smoke, drink, drive fancy 'rice rockets'(whats what modified jap cars are called in canada apparenlty .. according to my canadian friend)... dressing up in branded fancy clothes.. and just screwing everything else up..

dont reli blame them, they were brought up this way... with only one child to support and love, their parents basicaly spoilt the shit out of them...

often wonder how china would be like. in 20 years time when this generation.. takes over in the working world....

another issue... the whole issue of... the men in the house is the king of the house.. its his way or the highway!

absolutely ridiculous i tell ya... absolutely stupid...

and its things like this that possibly more and more chinese girls are looking for men elsewhere

dont believe me.. just read this article...(thanks to dan for it)

http://www.littlespeck.com/region/CForeign-China-081108.htm
bye bye gossip king...

as the end of the year arrives, or at least the end of the academic year for all melb uni students, i finally realise that come feb next year, i basicaly dont know anyone in IH anymore... not even a single student.. okay. maybe a couple.. but everyone that i usually talk to.. have moved out/graduated/ moving out...

i remember talking to jeannie a couple of weeks back, and talking about IH stuff, and she goes on and says to me " eddie, everyone has moved on, everyone has diff lives to live now..." .. how true... IH is kinda like a dsitant past now, with lots of fond memories all packed in it...

ah well.. heres to IH! haha.. no more gossips from me thats for sure... it was good while it lasted! and thus the chapter closes...

random thoughts on reality/talent shows...

this is how obsessed i am... basicaly, its impossible to download the 1st season of americas best dance crew, ive only managed to download the 1st 6 performances of my 2 favourite crews, winners jabbawockeez and my fav crew kaba modern (in which yuri tag from my previous post is from)...

so yeah.. im lacking 2 performance from them... and just nice.. mtv on my virgin tv is showing the 1st season so i managed to catch one performance last week, and i knew it was goin the other performance was going to be on this week....

so this is what i did.. took a tripod, hook up my camera to it.. and recorded their performance! wooohooooo!!! yeah..i know, i need to get a life...

moving along, was watching who wants to be a millionair and i noticed the most stupid move that just about every contestant make when they want to use one of their particular lifeline... 50:50

whenever the contestant is stuck... and wants to use the 50: 50 lifeline, the host will always ask the contestant which one he/she thinks is the answer... and that option will always still be available after canceling the 2 wrong answers out! it will always be there.. so the contestant will be stuck in a pickle all over again.. and the 50: 50 lifeline doesnt help at all in the end!

i think that.. the contestants shouldnt even tell the host what he/she thinks is the answer.. then maybe the game might not be biased in their "random way of canceling out 2 wrong answers"

other thoughts... instead of of going on who wants to be a millionair to win some money, i think this is a good idea on how to earn some...

write a book.... titled

"how to win a reality show for dummies"

some may say shows life x factor, sytycd, abdc or american idol or whatever idol is more of a talent show than anything else, i personally dont think so, the winner wins it largely due to their personalities as well.. thus.. its a reality tv show..

if you disagree.. then jsut write a "how to win a reality/talent show for dummies".. just doenst sound as catchy as the previous one!

miss yuri tag

those who are close or even semi close to me should know about this...

i always get asked this question

whats the definition of a hot woman

is it her being sexy?cute?pretty?stunning?

i dont know about everyone else... but for me.. there are 3 types of hot woman

type 1:the sweet looking type that you can bring home and show your parents... with her in a summer ish dress looking all girly and feminine, and sweet!

type 2: the type where somehow.. she has that more.. wild clubber chick look that you can take her out on a nite at a club and flaunt her, and all your guy friends will be jealous as !

type 3: now here comes the ultimate type.. the type who can cover both type 1 and type 2. Sweet looking to the point she can pull of the summer ish dress, the sweet make up etc, and yet has that sorta look that if she chucks on some clubbing outfit and some make up.. she will be the highlight of the dancefloor!

so yeah.. type 3 kicks asss!

ooh... if you are wondering who is that girl at the top... its yuri tag from kaba modern. If you are still totally clueless, kaba modern was the 2nd runner up of Randy Jackson's(black judge from american idol) Americas best dance crew-season 1!

shes is hot hot hot... at least i think so (jia yun begs to defer, saying that she is cute, but not hot)

not only that.. she can dance.. she can definitely dance!

and.. she is HOT!

time to start studying...

6 weeks has passed by just like that, and i havent done anything at all... fair enough, ive been attending classes ( most of them at least, would be a blatant lie if i said i attended all of them)...

but now now.. its finally time to start studying slightly more hardcore ish!

tidied up my room and now everything is in place to start placing my textbooks and notes on my desk!!!

bad timing though, my housemates and i just bought a 37 inch tv and hooked up the dvd player, xbox 360 and the wii to it.. not a good sign!

lets see what else is new...

to answer everyone.. im still single.. come on man.. you should know me by now... single.. as always! hahhaa... just wanted to remove it.. kinda sad! hahaha... have to say.. when i read kenny's comment i burst out laughing

" Kenny Chua at 10:10am November 10
dammit, we need another gossip king to tell us gossip about the gossip king"

so yeah.. no gossip fellas.. just wanted to remove it, followin the footsteps of jason!

lastly... topic of the day(been quite a while) - Does corny pick up lines ever work?

its totally random, and i actually googled some corny pick up lines just for fun.. there were a few good ones i have to say... such as

"screw me if im wrong, but havent we met before?"

"be unique and different. just say yes"

"thats a nice shirt, can i talk you out of it?"

"if i said you had a great body, would you hold it against me"

well there are so many many more.. just go to google and type up corny pick up lines.. way way more where those came from...

but yeah, wonder whether any of it actually works?

Newton Faulkner - Dream catch me

Every time I close my eyes... it's you
And I know now who I am
Yeah yeah yeah
And I know now

There's a place I go when I'm alone
Do anything I want, be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I'm falling

That's where I'm going, where are you going
Hold it close, won't let this go
Dream catch me yeah
Dream catch me when I fall
Or else I won't come back at all

You do so much
But you don't know... it's true
And I know now who I am
Yeah yeah yeah
And I know now

There's a place I go when I'm alone
Do anything I want, be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I'm falling

That's where I'm going, where are you going
Hold it close, won't let this go
Dream catch me yeah
Dream catch me when I fall
Or else I won't come back at all

See you as a mountain
a fountain of God
See you as a descant soul
in the setting sun
you as a sound just as silent as none
I'm young

There's a place I go when I'm alone
Do anything I want, be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I'm falling

There's a place I go when I'm alone
Do anything I want, be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I'm falling

That's where I'm going, where are you going
Hold it close, won't let this go
Dream catch me, yeah
Dream catch me when I fall
Or else I won't come back at all*

The bucket list...

gone are the days that i look forward to the next big hit movie, the next action blockbuster, the next 'most expensive' movie etc... just doesnt seem to strike me as it used to...

dont get me wrong, i still get around to watching them eventually, and nothing can/will keep me away from my chick flicks and rom coms, but somehow the movies that i enjoy the most are ... more dramatic? or, just movies that people my age wouldnt really enjoy

some recent examples might be the great debaters, freedom writers, pursuit of happyness, last king of scotland etc. I just enjoy this sorta movies much more these days, i dont need no 30 million actress, few hundred million budget sorta movie... all i need is awesome acting, and an awesome script...

so here it is, the bucket list... not sure whether you have watched it, not sure whether you will enjoy it... but i did... thought it had some subtle humour in it, and... its just a movie that makes you think, or in this case, made me think about myself after watching it...

Dont think i loved the movie that much to the point that i will watch it again in the near future... but im pretty sure ill watch it again when i turn 55, or 60 , or put it simply.. when i get much older...

if you are wondering why then and not now? well.. go watch it and you'll find out

A very young looking obama...

Yes We can

Been stuck in the hotel room for 4 days in a row, while i was in hong kong... in the morning till about 11am, just to watch the democratic convention...

What surprised me was, what started out with me being forced by my dad to watch it... became something that i would wake up to and get myself sitted in front of the TV in awaiting for the next big person to present his/her speech...

I do follow the US elections, dont get me wrong, i do read articles on it in TIME magazine, the economist or just random newspaper when i do have time to read it, but i was never really really in it.. till the convention.

What started off with Ted Kennedy's speech to Michelle Obama's speech during the 1st day... really got me.. hooked onto it, got me somewhat inspired! I find myself waking up the next day, sitting in front of the tv, to wait for Hillary clinton to give her speech, followed by joe Biden and Bill Clinton the next day, and finally the 'almost made it' Al Gore and Barack Obama delivering his amazing speech on the last day of the convention...

It just amazes me, how well they present their speech, how well it was created, how advance the politics in the states is... Im sure they have their speech written by professional writers, their speech projected to those glass looking conductors table around them as their sway their faces from left to right... still.. Absolutely amazing i find it...

As much as i am so inspired by them, i think i would be much more inspired to even think of hearing the great speeches by people like Martin luther King etc.. think about it, back in the day, heck.. your speech cant be projected anywhere.. you gotta have it in your head. word by word.. and to deliver his 'i have a dream' speech.. in such a way.. absolutely ridiculous...

At times like this, you get to realise just how advance America's democratic system is. Just by comparing how their politics works.. in comparison to the politics of malaysia...

I cant even think of a single politician in malaysia who would be able to deliver a speech like any of the people mentioned above who did it in the convention... yet alone.. to deal with politics in a professional way, compared to back stabbing each other with random false accusations....

Lastly... all i can say is that... if i was an american... i would be a democrat.... i personally believe that Obama is the right choice... like he said himself... 8 years is enough....

And so i join, hand in hand, and fully agree with Hillarys statement:
"No way, no how, no McCain"

And finally, as much as i am a tupac fan, a small part of his lyrics in the song changes, might not be true anymore...

ghazal... followed by max...

A real fun night with great company! its so weird to know that most of my friends are now working. Dont worry, i do realise that technically i should be working as well if i didnt screw up my life, but... well.. but... *insert excuse here*

food was alrite.. not too bad... but not going to say it was superb..then again, for me to enjoy indian food will be very hard cause it just isnt a cuisine that i fancy much for some unknown reason... the soufle was pretty darn good though, pretty darn good alrite!

regardless of how good the food was, or how shit it was, i really didnt care to be honest, we could have well been in a mamak... some random food stall eating economy rice, or just squatting down on a stool by the road side eating durian(which i dont eat) .. it was the company that made it such a marvelous nite!

fantastic conversations going back to IH days, current IH gossips, how niro has traits of Vassi when he talks, shotgun marriages to marriages as a general topic... places to eat... mee and keehong so desperately wanting to become best man in a wedding... the jinx for wedding(being single and forced to sit in the singles table/childrens table, or being match make by the couple getting married to some drunken lady/guy).. and last but not least.. work work work , which steph is the perfect example of .... so darn corporate man... it felt so weird just walking next to steph, cause i was dressed like a typical student with a polo shirt and jeans.. and she was all corporate... weird... However, even though jeannie and isaac are working, they were wearing the same ol same ol stuff..

tagline of the night: "They grab you by the balls, not to say you got balls" - me to steph in reference to her being cheap labour to her company

jeannies moment of the nite:
Jeannie: Maybelle is the hottest girl here by far
steph:...
yvonne:...

Lastly, piccas!

it has been a long time coming...

after many attempts at quitting...

its finally here...

At least i think it is...

Hope this time around it will actually last for a longer period of time...

not just a week or 2...

at least i know its been more than that...

How much longer...

well, if you want to know how long its been...

all i can say is that... its been that long to the point that i have lost count of the days...

so yeah...

pretty long...

No promises still...

I know ill give in once in a while when it comes to certain occasion...

But generally...

it should not be a problem...

nor a neccesity...

Last but not least...

A big shout out...

To all the people who have encourage me to quit... or discourage me from actually doing it...

Thanks...

think im running out of anything to blog about? dont know why, i guess since most of my friends have somewhat slowed down on blogging, or stopped completely, im sorta running out of ideas myself... either that.. or there isnt anything to blog about.. after all.. im in boring exeter

exams are done and over with.. cant believe that i actually survived it.. a full month in the library.. not bad i have to say.. just hope that my results will show the effort i have put into it... i know i wont do well.. but i should pass.. and get.. maybe.. 2nd class lower? then again.. pretty sure i failed management accounting.. ah well

been going to london for the past 2 weekends.. and am going again this weekend.. to meet up with some peeps... going to meet kam? some of you would have known her.. crazy chinese girl from america who was on exchange last year in IH? im sure sheanee would remember her couz the 1st time we saw/met her she was all acting crazy and shit on the basketball court.. so if you dont know who im talking about.. ask sheanee. or look up facebook for kam yan..

also.. think i might meet up with jia huis sis.. or jia yun.. hahaha..whichever.. for japanese food? and maybe some other peeps.. see how see how it goes!

sis took me to bicester village last weekend.. its like.. the dfo of uk.. and.. man.. its evil.. evil.. spent so so so so so much over there.. but.. i dunno.. as much as i did spend a lot of money.. looking back at all the stuff i bought.. i have to say it was pretty worth it..

how much did i spend.. hmm.. you take a guess.. a pair of evisu jeans... by puma.. 2 polo ralph lauren polo t's , and 3 ralph lauren long sleeve shirts.. you do the maths.. and take a guess

what else is there.. might be going to st ives on wednesday with a couple of friends.. hopefully the weather will be good.. cant wait to start taking photos again.. havent touched my camera... in... AGESSSSSS

nothing else really.. sytycd america season 4 is out and kicking.. blooming amazing.. way better than the aus version.. by far!!! so yeah.. download it and watch it.. trust me.. it will blow you away!

another year...

cant believe its been a year(academic year) since i came to uk. Somehow seems like it was just yesterday that i packed up all my stuff... seems like yesterday that i left melbourne for good.. seems like yesterday that i was puking all over swanston st... seems like yesterday that omar kenny fang raymond and tutor charlie had to carry me to my car and drive me home... seems like yesterday i passed out in the jcr...

time flies... but .. wow.. what a year! what a year.. i really think.. looking back at things.. that for once in my life i made the right decision to walk away from my comfort zone. Im actually enjoying it over here in exeter... fair enuff its a dead town and there isnt much to do, but the uni is absolutely amazing, the people are really cool.. and yeah.. i finally got a good bunch of social network friends to chill with, study with etc...

Also, i finally managed to travel without worrying about my dad catching the next flight down.. now just within the uk, but i travelled to spain.. a whole new country.. and.. hopefully ill be able to travel lots more in the near future!

All is good.. studies are good.. for once i can say that im on track, and im one year away from graduating, at the rate im going, im sure ill get at least a 2nd class lower, its up to me to see whether i can try to push it up to a second class upper.. but.. ah well. either way.. IM GOING TO GRADUATE IN 1 YEAR TIME!!!

mark my words.. i AM going to graduate in a years time...

so yeah... what a year... what a year!

Monday, 26 May 2008

1 more to go...

cant believe that time over here in uk just flew by... in less than 10 days time, i would have been done with my first year over here... and only a year left to go before i graduate...

And this time.. i can actually smell graduation in the air.. as much as im still pretty sure im going to fail management accounting, i can still always resit it and pass it, or maybe.. i dont even need to resit it as all my other module marks will be able to cover it up.. weird system over here in uk

So yeah.. now that i have a better grasp of what i want to do, and what modules i want to do next year in order to avoid the trap that i set myself this year..

what trap you may ask:

Well, apparently management accounting is the hardest module from the accounting side(highest score last year was 65), and hardest module from economics side is stats and econometrics... and just so happen. i chose those 2 as my electives.. ELECTIVES MAN!!! i wasnt even forced to do it as a core module, everyone who knew it was my electives were like.. why the hell did you choose this.. beats me!

anyways.. as for next year here it goes

1)Economics Management Strategy
2)Business Strategy
3)Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management
4)Basic Mathematics for Economics
5)Business information Systems!

should be okay.. plannin to average.. about.. high 60's! lets see whether that happens.. my aim for 2nd class upper honours is slipping away. but.. who knows.. who knows!

in other news.. this year has been absolutely great.. its amazing what a year can do to you.. its really different.. everything is different.. im kinda used to it here.. i have my small circle of friends which im comfortable with.. everything is alrite .. lets put it that way...

hols are coming up soon.. cant wait! melby here i come.. hahaha.. a repeat of last years 'spyrytus' event... less likely, however.... who knows.. might just have to live up to everyones expectations, however ck and veron have told me that they wont let me stay over at their place if im drunk, and i have to part ways with 50 dollars if i was to get xin yu aka monash to take care of me when im drunk, and another 50 dollars to take care of kk cause ill be getting him drunk.. hmm... not financially advisable i reckon

other news.. you wanna know how hooked onto sytycd australia i was! If any of you watches the show, you can notice .. at the finale, khaly and the breakers came back to do a group routine.. with some random girls and stuff.. im so hooked to the point that... i have watched that routine so many times to the point that i can just about name all the guys and girls in it ( its usually hard to tell all of them cause their face is covered and you only get to see a split second of them, well, considering i watch the routine about 20 times or more, im sure i can name everyone in it)

other news.. so you think you can dance america season 4 is out! good riddance american idol i say... and ..shit.. this season is gonna bring the house down. the 1st ep itself is ridiculously amazing!!!!

hmm.. what else is there to say.. like in uk is rather .. monotonous.. so yeah.. esp now..since its exam period.. but.. i only have 10 more days to go and im free!!! hahaha...unlike everyone back in melby.. you just started.. hahah!

so yeah.. good luck to everyone with their exams that are coming up soon.. hope to see you all in melby.. or back in malaysia.. or what now! Good luck with it.. and wish me luck too!!!

Final note... i just bought an xbox 360 woot!

blond and ditz... pakistani...

so here i was with my friends, having dinner quite a while back... and my english mate Chris was telling us about how he got offered a job from AXA insurance.. that pays 25000 pounds.. and were all happy for him and what not...

About a week later.. whilst we were all in the library.. having late night supper at midnight, kebab with garlic mayo sauce and some coleslaw on it from raj.. the usual... my pakistani friend, who was at the dinner few weeks back as well.. started this conversation...

Pakistani: So Chris, congratulation on your job!

Chris:
Why thanks!

Pakistani:
So, what did you say the pay was again?

Chris:
25000 pounds...

Pakistani:
hmm.. thats not bad.. that actually quite good.. 25000 pounds a month....

ME:
errr...what?

Chris:
...

Pakistani:
what do you mean what?

ME:
what you mean 25000 pounds a month?

Pakistani:
yea, chris said he is earning 25000 pounds a month!

Chris:
When did i say that?

ME:
NO HE DIDNT... he said he is going to earn 25000 pounds a year!

Chris:
Yea.. what did you think i was saying?

Pakistani:
??-_-.. you guys are kidding right>?

ME:
-_-

Chris:
-_-

ME:
...erm.. no we are not? why the hell do you think he is earning 25000 pounds a month?

Pakistani:
.... but.. but.. your kidding right chris? your not earning 25000 pounds a year?

Chris:
erm.. yes i am!

ME:
WTF!!! WTF..How the hell did you think that? WTH!

Basicaly.. you can see where this conversation was headed to, he really thought that my friend was going to earn 25000pounds a month.. who the hell earns that much.. sorry man.. no offence.. but.. its reality.. no one earns 25000 upon graduation... POUNDS!!!

so yeah.. he really didnt know.. reli reli didnt know.. he went on to say.. well.. i was thinking.. 25000 pounds a month was alright, i dont need to get much money from my parents, i can just buy some clothes here and there.. and maybe get some money from my parents when i need it..

WHy the hell would you need money if you are earning 25000 pounds a month... that slike.. RM 150000 a month.. wth

so yeah.. and this guy is like in.. 2nd year already! and he is doing well in his studies. .. but boy oh boy does he have absolutely no idea whats waiting for him in the real world!

When we finally told him that he is only going to earn.. 2500 pounds max... a month when he graduated... well.. lets just say he almost fainted...

ps. on another random note.. i hate management accounting.. a lot.. shit thing is.. im pretty sure i failed it yesterday.. and i will need to look at it again come august when i re sit for it!

Tuesday, 6 May 2008

it was 11.30pm on a night where about 10 people, who are gathered in the library are starting to suffer from starvation... and desperately needed some late night supper ... to get.. food for thought!

it was also the monday, the 5th of may, which is a bank holiday here...

so.. the group of 10 decided to give a call to the takeaway place.. to get some orders which included 14 burgers ( some chicken, some beef, some bacon, some fish..which apparently tasted like vegetable burger instead)... only to our disapointment that no one picked up the shop telephone.. and it is likely that the shop was closed due to bank holiday....

So.. what do we do now.. well.. thank goodness.. that one of us had the handphone number... of... wait for it.. wait for it.. THE OWNER OF THE SHOP!

so there it is, we called the shop.. and asked the owner whether he would be kind enough to make our food... even though the actual shop was closed... and the owner was actually reluctant.. well that quickly changed when we told him we were going to order 100 pounds worth..

so there it is.. 45 minutes later.. food was delivered... food was goood..

now.. fingers crossed that there wasnt any saliva.. or worse... well..aint gonna mention it...but im sure you know what im thinkin...

now.... enough procrastinating. and right back to work. once again..

was a nite of fun... catchin up with fellow IHers.. quite an experience.. quite weird how so many people are working already.. haha..

weird how i was eating at a spanish restaurant...after..fresh comin back from spain..

food was not too bad...not the best.. but not too bad.. then again.. i cant judge it that well.. since i think i would have enjoyed it much more if i could actually eat without feeling the pain from taking out my wisdom teeth, pretty sure it would have been much nicer if i could have chew the food with my back teeth instead of the front ones... as it was so so much effort... so so tiring just to chew down a small piece of roast suckling piglet...

nevertheless, food was not too bad.. but what was more important.. was the company..which was amazing..absolutely amazing..

kudos to jeannie for misdirecting kee hong ... making keehong walk like.. a long long distance just to get to the restaurant..

kudos to keehong for cutting up the piglet for us.. and also to break the plate for prosperity reasons...

kudos to steph ting for her restaurant recommendation ...

kudos to kee win for ordering for us...

and ... all in all..kudos to everyone who came.. and made it a wonderful evening!

now..time for piccas!

yes yes.. im still into chick flicks..
its actually not bad.. not bad at all. katherine heigl... HOT! HOT stuff..

However, after watching the movie, i suddenly realise that.. i wouldnt really want my future partner to be watching too many chick flicks.. especially ones that involve weddings...

the reason why im saying this is because... looks at all the weddings in chick flicks! its absolutely ridiculous.. its always set at some amazing location (boat house, boat, huge cathedral, on top of the empire state building or some other random tall building overlooking all the sky scrapers of new york city, at some really nice garden on a nice spring day, on a plane, small church with small reception).. well. you get the point... you know.. those type of weddings in chick flicks.. where the girls will be ... awwwwwwwwwww.... i want a wedding just like that!

How in the world am i , or just about any other male in malaysia ... suppose to pull off a wedding like that. Looking back at my brothers wedding... sure.. it was a good wedding for malaysian standards.. church wedding followed by a big 100 table reception dinner at sheraton hotel... with lots and lots of good alcohol to sink everyone in the mood...

But thats besides the point.. the wedding was good.. for malaysian standards... but not up to par .. with.. chick flicks standards!

you cant find a boat house in malaysia.. why would you anyways? the sea is so dirty.. there arent many lakes.. definitely no lakes with a boat house... as for boats.. there are no boats big enuff to fit 1000 people in it.. dinner at the top of a tall building... let me think.. kl tower? looking out at all the polution that malaysia has.. hmm.. dont think so.. nice little garden? in the afternoon.. boy will you be sweating your arse off...

not looking forward to it.. its going to be hard aint it? all girls want their proposal/wedding to be their dream wedding ... yet i already can see how mine(if it actually happens) will turn out to be.. 100 tables.. more than half of them filled with random relatives/ clients/ dads friends/moms friends/ parents in law friends/ staff/randoms that i wouldnt have met in my life.. or possibly met them.. a couple of times at most... me having to face my fears of 'stage fright' and actually making a speech.. a serious speech showing my love to my partner, how i met my partner, my love for my parents and my career...future..etc whilst acknowledging the crowd , showing my appreciation for their attendance etc....

top that up with lots of bottles of alcohol, some random lady singing random songs from the 70's or even 60's... an emcee who talks in 8 different languages, a standard hotel chinese meal course that includes soup, fish, fried rice, mushroom with vegies, roast chicken, the '4 seasons' cold appetizer thingi, followed by fried redbean/lotus pancake and some random 'tong sui' to top everything off...

finally, me and my future partner having to change outfits .. 5 times during the course of the dinner, to pour champagne into a full tower stacked with champagne glasses, cake cutting, and lots .. lots of yum seng-ing with every table.. trying to stay sober along the way by passing drinks needed to be downed to your 'heng tais' to finish... and last but not least... lots ... lots of hand shaking with everyone.. as they leave.. whilst saying words such as "thank you for coming", "thank you so much(angpow)", "hope you enjoyed the night","why leaving so early", "have somemore drinks", "sorry i didnt spend that much time with you, i had to go around and see everyone" .. you get the point...

so yeah.. as much as chick flicks are really nice to watch.. im really really hoping that all the girls out there aint brainwashes by it... and are not hoping for such a wedding.. cause if they are.. boy.. am i going to be single for a long long long long time! especially after writing this post...

facebook chat...

will be the end of me... perfect timing for it to pop up! rite b4 my exams...

i reckon other chat programs like msn and google chat is going to be obsolete after facebook chat! this is because, with msn... you may have.. 50 percent of your friends on it... and possibly 20 percent of your friends on google chat.. but with facebook chat... you KNOW... you KNOW you have at least 80 percent of your TOTAL friends on it.. what else can be better?

one of the only things that is questionable.. whats the point of having that online now button under the FRIENDS tab... cause the number of friends online through that, and the number of friends online through facebook chat never tallys.. so? which is telling the truth?

the only downside i can see from facebook chat.. you cant appear offline... or you cant block random peeps that you dont wanna chat with.. or that you dont want them to know that you are online... hmmm.. hmmmm.. other than that.. its the best thing ever!

just wait for it.. facebook chat.. will take over everything else.. mark my words!

random thought

wouldn't really classify this under topic of the day... since i dont think its much of a topic at all...but here goes...

how did.. the people.. back in the day.. like..way way way back.. cavemen and cavewomen...

how did they actually do it?

the reason why i ask this is that.. i think.. without sex ed, porn, movies that have random sex scenes... i dont think i would have known how sex actually works?

fair enuff you can say that you hear from friends or this and that.. but your friends must have got it from porn, sex ed, watching their parents go at it etc....

What if there was no sex ed...there was no porn... there was no peepin possible... how would a guy know whats a penis, what is its usage, nor whats a vagina, how they would interact etc?

think about it.. seriously... its just weird aint it? they wouldnt reli be able to find it..cause itll be covered in a bush.. even more so cause clippers werent invented back in the day... hmm??

any ideas?

Fastest way to lose weight...

pull out your wisdom teeth.. cause that way... you know you wont be eating normally for at least 3 days or so...

have to say.. its pretty painful.. i swear i thought i would be asleep(sedation) whilst the dentist does the operation... i know that i was injected.. and my lips and gums/teeth were numb and everything.. and they cover my face.. but i knew what was going on.. i can hear the sound of them slicing my teeth into 4 pieces, i can tell that they are pulling, yanking the teeth out etc... can sorta feel a bit ... the dentist stitching everything together etc...

What i couldnt feel was the sense of time.. it was 2 hours ish. but it didnt feel that long.. possibly i fell asleep but woke up too early as the dentist estimated it to be 1 hour 15 minutes but didnt know it was going to be that complicated and tough to the point it took 2 hours 15 minutes instead... and of course i couldnt see jack shit.. couz my face was covered...

it actually seems like that new movie that is coming out.. or at least the trailer of it... AWAKE? with jess alba... at how out of 100 people who go under sedation or what not.. remain awake.. or something like that...

after getting the wisdom teeth off, it was constantly bleeding for 3 hours or so. Was first sent to the recovery room where they ask me to take a rest but i couldnt quite rest as it was constantly bleeding and i swear i was going to choke from all the blood in my mouth.. so i got up and went back and see the doc.. who then explained to me how the operation went, and what is going to happen now, what i need to do etc.

came back.. massive headache. and i swear i must have spit out at least a full glass of blood by now. and its still slightly bleeding from time to time.. chucked on ice packs on both cheeks ( i took out wisdom tooth on both sides) and rested... cant eat properly.. cant drink properly (through a straw) and everything taste of blood...hmmmm

so yeah. been sitting at home.. either doing nothing.. chating on facebook... or sleepin on the couch in the living room(result of all the antibiotics and pain killers). Feeling better compared to yest.. getting used to the hole.. getting used to it.. and not feeling much pain (assistance of pain killers)... so yeah... thats the story of my wisdom teeth..

have to say.. dont think it hurts that much.. still think getting hit in the balls is much more painful... then again. i was under sedation so i dont think ill ever be able to tell the true pain of it.....

leads me back to one of the greatest mysteries of life... which is more painful, getting hit in the balls or going through labour... hmmm

viva la espana

its amazing how fast time flies... less than a year ago, i was in gold coast soaking up the sun and stuffing myself up with different type of hamburgers... and less than a few days ago, i was out in the sunny beach of malaga.. soaking up the sun again, no hamburgers involved this time though.. just loads of seafood and loads and loads of tinto verano...

In the words of sugat and just about every thai person on this earth: same same... but different.

Spain was absolutely wonderful.. its a very different holiday compared to the one i had in gold coast! very different.. i guess both holidays was amazing, each has its different highlights.. but all in all.. i have to say spain was just that much better...

It was a totally new experience for me.. going on holiday to a different country! kinda weird to actually be in a place where very few people speak english. Special mention to Yara for being our translator throughout the trip even though she doesnt really speak spanish, she was still the best out of all of us at understanding it and trying to string random words together to make other people understand what we are trying to get at...

It was a great change.. to actually see the sun for once.. to actually feel the warmth! utterly amazing..

It was great company... was kinda scared at first that people might not get along ( it was 5 of us in total for barcelona, and 4 of us for the rest of the trip, problem is, im the only one who knew everyone and everyone didnt quite know each other couz they were friends from either basketball, my residential hall or IH.. ) im really grateful that everyone got together really really fast.. the reason why i knew everyone started getting along well is when you start talking shit and insulting each other.... perfect way of knowing that they are getting along just fine!!

Barcelona

the apartment we got was really nice.. apart from the dodgy entrance and the tiny lift that only fit 3 people... it was really nice and it was just about smack in the city centre! It was even better as it was at the outskirts of the main part(la ramblas) so it was rather quiet at nite... ooh.. did i mention that we were in the 'arabville' of barcelona.. with heaps of kebab shops below us.. also.. i think i should mention that we were right by the whore street.. i kid you not! it was the prostitution area and we literally walked past it everytime we went into the city centre... and no.. i did not get one myself!!!

Have to say that i managed to do a lot in barcelona.. did some touristy thingi.. went to montjuric.. beach.. la ramblas... cathedral.. saw the gaudi house.. and last but not least.. the sagrada familia.. its amazing to look at the architecture in barcelona.. everything is so colourful.. so lively.. the architecture is just absolutely amazing.. the city streets, the window shutters, the buildings.. the mini lanes.. just wonderful.. aint going to go on and on about it.. but.. if you look at the photos.. you will understand why!

One of the highlights of the trip has to be me and sugat renting a bike.. cyclin up to the sagrada..! absolutely amazing.. just cycling through the many mini streets and lanes of barcelona itself is such a feat! Apart from that, we decided to rent the bikes for the whole night as well.. and after a few drinks at the bar. we went for a night run!!! in a word... weave

the food in spain in general was amazing(apart from the token chinese restaurant visit and the random tapas place in malaga) the food is absolutely amazing! its funny how they have siesta, where EVERYONE.. EVERYONE take a rest.. close their shops from around 2 to 4.. to have their lunch, to chill, have a couple of drinks and have a mini nap before they get back to their work!.. how cool is that!

food: in one word.. tapas! tapas is like.. yum cha..just in a spanish way.. many little dishes.. but once you pile em up.. it feels like a full meal. Paella definitely needs a mention too, its like.. seafood fried rice.. but different.. haha.. dont really know how to explain it.. but im sure most of you know it already...

Awesome restaurant.. a meal to remember.. and im sure everyone who went on the trip will agree with me.. La Rita! its sorta like a fine dining restaurant.. just not so expensive.. i was quite shocked myself as i thought it was going to be expensive as... but turns out alrite.. i paid.. 27 euros.. and i basically had a appetizer.. 1 and a half main course( i shared one with sugat), dessert, coffee. oooh.. wine too! absolutely delightful meal.. really filling as well!

fun stuff worth mentioning.. we found a famous roast chicken place. and me and sugat decided to have it ... though we could not take it back to the apartment since no one was there(there was only 2 keys) , so we bought the chicken.. took it to KFC and ate it there...

it was really good.. the drinks.. the food.. the bonding session on the first night between me, sugat and yara! hahaha.. and we started naming different looks.. me and sugat started telling our stories from IH days.. and everyone started catching on to our ridiculous humour..

Madrid

To be honest, i didnt fancy madrid as much... really didnt.. im really guessing it has something to do with the weather as it was pretty cold when we were there, i got sick.. but that didnt quite stop me from drinking drinking drinkin...

Nice nice sangria at SESAMO... we got to try really nice peruvian food, and yara went salsa dancing even though me hiro and sugat opted out of it since the place was just a bit too smoky for out liking... me and sugat then ended up in the hostel finishing the 1/3 remainder of the whiskey that he bought duty free....

Went to the prado museum.. which is one of the best galleries in europe.. it was rather interesting, the artwork, the statues of men with their penis chopped off(still have no idea why though), the disturbing paintings of GOYA's Black paintings collection... find it quite scary how someone can paint wonderful photos , and then painting disturbing photos of saturn eating its kids... apparently that was after he went deaf.. hmm many many other nice paintings in there.. but. me and sugat were never the arty type of people.. so we browsed through about...2/3rds of the gallery and just walked off couz i felt my brain was overloading.. we only spent about 2 hours in there where a friend of mine, hiro literally spent.. 5 hours ish in there.. crazy!

Went on the bus tour.. managed to see most of madrid i have to say! it is really nice.. its city centre is bigger than barcelona i think.. bit more modern... more upper class.. yet i didnt like it as much as it just seemed like any other capitals around the world...

Point to note: me and sugat were cravin some good chinese food as he has some... hmm.. indigestion problems.. basicaly.. he couldnt shit.. and we figured the only way to do so is through chinese food.. wonton soup in particular.. so we asked the receptionist of the hostel where is a good place to eat chinese food.. ( it didnt seem like the best idea then asking a spanish girl where to eat chinese but it was out only choice) and she said.. you go to plaza espana.. get off the tube... you will see a stairs going down... and there you will find a nice chinese restaurant.. and its cheap as well!.. so me and sugat decided to follow her instructions.. couz we didnt know any other chinese place to eat.. that and also.. couz she mentioned it was CHEAP.. that definitely sold the idea to us.. we went to plaza espana station.. looked around. and i saw some stairs going down.. but it had a P(parking) sign on it.. so i was thinking.. no way..its that one.. but we asked this guy with a lil tabacs(tobacco) shop where is the chinese restaurant where it is.. and he pointed to the stairs with the parking lot sign..

Me and sugat decided to take a look.. and we couldnt believe it.. it was like..china town in madrid.. well.. not really china town.. but.. sorta like it.. they had 2 chinese travel agencies and a mini chinese groceries.. and the chinese lil restaurant.. we were like.. wth.. chinese restaurant.. in the middle of no where.. it had to be good.. and it was.. simple.. but good.. the menu only consisted of a couple of dishes.. noodles and fried rice in particular.. but it was good. and of course... we had wonton soup... weird though. lil china town in the middle of no where, underground somemore.. as for sugat.. he didnt quite shit as much as he wanted too.. considering he didnt shit the past 2 days.. but he did managed 2 lil poops.. i guess thats better than nothing..

Did a lot of souvenir shopping for my family.. not cheap i have to say. not cheap at all. but.. i guess its touristy area.. and they know stupid people like me will buy souvenirs no matter what the price.. man.. i got sucked into it badly eh.. ah well. shit happens..

other nice sites in madrid includes the palacio real(palace) .. really huge.. has 2800 rooms. and the king doesnt even live there.. its used mostly for tourist to look at some 53 rooms out of 2800 rooms and its always open to the public unless there are formal state events, dinners held in there... The palace was amazing. one of the nicest ones.. one of the best preserved palace in europes.. and apaprently it was burnt down and reconstructed and stuff like that.. dont ask me for the details.. cant quite remember already... but yeah.. really really nice.. didnt manage to go in though as the queue to get into the palace was literally 2 blocks long.. around.. 250 metres long im guessin.. and im not kidding about this..

Another thing to see in madrid.. is plaza major! really nice square built back in the day! used to be a place for bull fights and all.. but not anymore.. its now just filled with random basking people(including the annoying HALO robot wannabe... which i cant stand) and lots of little random cafes where people can have their cuppa at!
Malaga:

After being a 'jap tourist' in madrid, me, sugat and yara decided it is enough, and it was now time to kick back and relax for the remainder of the holidays.... what better a place to be at than malaga, where the sun is shining, there are no clouds above you and wonderful wonderful sea to look at!

Malaga is a really nice town.. small but not too small. big but not too big.. you get what i mean! We managed to stay in a very nice hostel called hostal el nogal and it was literally a minute walk from the beach!

I reckon malaga would be a place where sheanee and joanna would absolutely go nuts! You wanna know why.. one word: food! because its by the sea.., the fish is so fresh. and rather cheap as well! during the day time you can see all the restaurants by the beach are open, and all of them have a little boat on the sand where they hire a man to light up some firewood and to grill your fresh fish to perfection, with nothing more than salt as its marinade.. and all you need after that is to pinch some lemon juice.. PERFECTION!

another reason to love malaga.. TINTO DE VERANO... its like sangria..but different.. i dont think anyone in malaga serves sangria ... but they serve tinto de verano which literally translates into red wine of the summer in english.. really good stuff!

Nice beach.. hot girls along the beach.. nice little bars with cool summer ish drinks.. good good seafood.. what else can you ask for .. really.. what else can you ask for.. just absolutely sublime!

So yeah.. that sorta rounds up the trip for me.. i really really enjoyed it.. and after spending the 2 weeks before the trip with a routine like waking up at 630pm.. having dinner, shower and heading to the library at 830pm, staying there till 10am in the morning, coming back to shower and then go to class till 4.. coming back to sleep till 630pm and the routine starts again.. trust me.. this is all i could ask for.. for a nice break from everything!

All in all.. it was great..good food.. good relaxation, good culture difference, good place to be, good drinks, awesome cocktails, and last ... but definitely, definitely not least.. great company

For all of you who didnt come for the trip.. you can stop reading now as the rest of this is dedicated to those who tagged along!

Just want to say thanks to all of you peeps out there.. for making it such a lovely trip. it was what i needed.. it was really really good! I was sorta worried at the start that everyone might not click together, boy was i wrong.. all of you got along well so fast.. and yeah.. im sure everyone did manage to have a good time.
Would also like to apologies if i have pissed off anyone during the trip. AS much as i dont think i have ...but just in case that i have.. i apologies

Now comes the highlights...

After watching rocky III, IV and V today.. im so inspired to write up this thing..

da da daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....da da daaaaaaaaaa*climbs up stairs*

Im going to try to remember all the highlights of the trip..but if i do forget any of them.. well... sue me.. i highly doubt i can remember everything.. after all. im sure that all the alcohol i consumed during the trip has definitely killed quite a lot of my brain cells.. here goes:

Best part of the trip... Yara getting into the water....! that i will not..and possibly forever wont forget.. the look on everyones face.. of her screaming and jumping about.. kudos for sugat 'acting cool' in the water for 5 minutes to try to lure yara into the water! Nevertheless, yara did manage to pick up a spanish dude.. CARLOS!!!

good moment that yara missed out on... hiro nakamura! In the words of yara 'i told you so!' How in the world can someone actually mistake hiro for hiro nakamura from heroes? man... seriously...

the crazee spanish peeps that we met in malaga.... beautiful mannnnnnnnnnnn

Yara's lovely photo of her/himself... love the short hair!

Sugat's finishing skills.... which later was somehow... caught on by yara

Yara's amazing ability to wake up with a new/different/unknown bruise somewhere on her body

Sugat's inability to succeed in the toilet bowl... thought he didnt stop trying (which was good cause he would then read out the guide book to me in the cubicle next door)

Hiro's sense of direction (wrong to the point that he is so convinced that he was right, resulting in him coming back an hour later)

Abe's fetish with playing around with little clams and mussels, dissecting the shit out of it.

Bike runs... lots of bike runs... never ending bike runs.. and.. never ending weaves!

Bike runs with passenger at the back... especially if yara is on.. cause she will scream the shit out of herself

Sugat farting under the blanket at 8am in the morning whilst i was sharing a bed with him, thus sharing the same blanket... it became funnier when he realised i was still awake as i started giggling.. which he then followed.. and this just went on for quite a while..

Me and sugat's inability to order an appropriate amount of food.. resulting in us stuffing ourselves.. whilst resulting in a greater bill than expected...

me getting shat on...TWICE (ok.. not me, my camera bag) within the 1st 4 hours of my stay in barcelona...

Sugat's ability to be asked whether he wants any marijuana, coccaine or any such drugs... also.. his ability to get picked on by the x-ray security people

Us(well.. i sorta started it) giving each other skill sets!

Yara would always be known for SAT NAV skills!! austrian SAT NAV being the best of them all... spanish understanding and speaking skills, going into cold water skills! hooking up with random people skills!!making stupid look 6(wasted) skills... drinking skills.. etc

Sugat... Worst SAT NAV skills(thank goodness we took a cab) , finishing skills,
rocky skills... dreadlock skills... weaving skills.. bike locking skills... asian glow skills

Hiro.. might not have that many skills.. but the one skill that he possesses.. was so important for the trip... wait for it.. wait for it... Japanese tourist guide book to choose restaurant skills!

ok..thats it.. wont go on and one no more.. think i went on and on too much already! so yeha.. cant be bothered! hahaha..so this is it.. this is SPAIN basicaly.. awesome place! awesome people.. awesome drinks.. awesome weather... cant really ask for much more now can i ?

for some photos of my trip to spain... click here
