A very young looking obama...

Yes We can

Been stuck in the hotel room for 4 days in a row, while i was in hong kong... in the morning till about 11am, just to watch the democratic convention...

What surprised me was, what started out with me being forced by my dad to watch it... became something that i would wake up to and get myself sitted in front of the TV in awaiting for the next big person to present his/her speech...

I do follow the US elections, dont get me wrong, i do read articles on it in TIME magazine, the economist or just random newspaper when i do have time to read it, but i was never really really in it.. till the convention.

What started off with Ted Kennedy's speech to Michelle Obama's speech during the 1st day... really got me.. hooked onto it, got me somewhat inspired! I find myself waking up the next day, sitting in front of the tv, to wait for Hillary clinton to give her speech, followed by joe Biden and Bill Clinton the next day, and finally the 'almost made it' Al Gore and Barack Obama delivering his amazing speech on the last day of the convention...

It just amazes me, how well they present their speech, how well it was created, how advance the politics in the states is... Im sure they have their speech written by professional writers, their speech projected to those glass looking conductors table around them as their sway their faces from left to right... still.. Absolutely amazing i find it...

As much as i am so inspired by them, i think i would be much more inspired to even think of hearing the great speeches by people like Martin luther King etc.. think about it, back in the day, heck.. your speech cant be projected anywhere.. you gotta have it in your head. word by word.. and to deliver his 'i have a dream' speech.. in such a way.. absolutely ridiculous...

At times like this, you get to realise just how advance America's democratic system is. Just by comparing how their politics works.. in comparison to the politics of malaysia...

I cant even think of a single politician in malaysia who would be able to deliver a speech like any of the people mentioned above who did it in the convention... yet alone.. to deal with politics in a professional way, compared to back stabbing each other with random false accusations....

Lastly... all i can say is that... if i was an american... i would be a democrat.... i personally believe that Obama is the right choice... like he said himself... 8 years is enough....

And so i join, hand in hand, and fully agree with Hillarys statement:
"No way, no how, no McCain"

And finally, as much as i am a tupac fan, a small part of his lyrics in the song changes, might not be true anymore...
