freaking gimmicks...

coco pops just came out with 2 new flavours and shapes, one that is shaped like a star(like honey stars back home in msia, and one that is shaped like a ball like the milo cereal back home)... to be honest, just about taste the same with really subtle differences, just the feeling of eating tens of big coco balls /star is different to crushing down hundreds of small rice crispies in every spoon im guessin... you would think, who would be the sucker who gets sucked into getting these, cause they look the same, and most probably taste the same...

i did...

then again, what can i say, im quite a sucker for marketing gimmicks

a reputation i might not live up to this time around...

Now this is what you do when you are absolutely bored shitless...

and no... i didnt do it! that would just be rude and harsh! sheanee did it herself! and dont worry, im not so rude to just post it up without letting her know, she didnt reli mind to be honest, cause she said she was gonna put it up on fb anyways...

so yeah... to be fair, it does look like she has put on weight, then again... maybe photo angles etc? or maybe... she just really did put on weight! shes been asking me whether i thought she put on weight... and didnt seem like it? her cheeks were always chubby... well, now i see why she was asking me! haha...

now this post is not to insult or make fun of miss poh! thats just part of it!

heres another thank you post... to the person who kept me company in my 1st semester on the phone! it was good to have someone (who i was kinda close with and familiar with, and from IH.. haha! ) being in the uk to chat to, chat about our past, or just anything and everything at all! was definitely fun times! also, a great traveling partner to have(really shit at uploading photos on fb tho)...

yeah... thank you

thanks!

easter break is over... went by so quickly(as all holidays do), and had to spend the last few days trying to write up a stupid assignment!!! it went better than i expected (i actually reached the word limit)... mainly thanks to 2 people that deserve special mention for sure!

firstly... jeannie oh jeannie! what would i be without you... more like, what would my grammar in my essays be without you! i would actually show u a print screen of my essay that was marked, but it would absolutely be too embarassing... its basically red in colour after all the corrections! Instead, i have something better for you! here goes!

jeannie with her mini aaron cut out!

another person that i need to thank! is definitely! jia! not big jia... mini jia! jiayun basically(jia huis sis)... cause if it wasnt for her, i wouldnt have nice coffee to help me through the next 30 crazy days ahead of me! hahah

thanks! for sending the coffee to me! woohoo.. go ipoh white town... which reminds me, i still owe her the money for it!

its been a week since i got back from greece...

amazing trip to be honest, havent seen a scenery quite like the sunset at oia!

was totally not pumped or psyched for the trip(mainly cause i didnt even read up on what i was doing or where i was going), but when i went to oia everything was clear to me...

it was clear why santorini was the no1 honeymoon destination in the world...

clear why the sunset at oia is known to be one of the best sunset in the world...

my photos does not do it justice...

would blog much more about the trip, but exams are coming up soon...

or maybe cause i know if this post is way too long no ones gonna bother reading it anyways...

either way... see my mood next time...

but for now, hopefully the photo above will be good enuff...

a nice sunny afternoon...

the weather over here has been really really good the past week or so...

good to the point that everyone is out in shorts and thongs(still trying to buy my havaianas)...

good to the point you wanna say :"What time is it???.... its PIMMS o clock!"(a summer alcoholic drink that kinda taste like lemon lime bitters but better and with fruits in it)

good to the point that you wanna whip out the barbeque

good to the point you just wanna go out and chill... sit down and have cream tea...

good to the point couples just enjoy the sun and relax... and look so so happy doing so...

now thats what uk weather should be like...

topic of the day

might just get slapped for writting this up...

not too sure whether i heard this first or its just a random thought that has been stuck in my head... but here it goes...

if flowers are meant to represent the love that a guy has for the girl(most cases in relationships)... your either either gonna imply that the love is eventually gonna fade and die(real flowers)... or its just fake to start of with(fake flowers)?

take the example of roses during valentines day... a day that florist definitely make heaps of money regardless of whether the global economic crisis is hitting its peak... individuals pay heaps of money... to buy roses that are way too overpriced and ones that might not even be that nice on that day, either too old or too young...

so if flowers are meant to represent the love that one has for another... which way should he go? the one that last forever but is fake, or real ones that will die out in a week or 2...

some may argue that they keep the flowers even after 2 weeks after they die and dry them up and stuff... but whats the percentage of people who actually do that...?

a friend of mine did... however come up with 2 rather interesting... flower tips for valentines day(where a dozen of roses is usually bought):

-get 11 real roses and 1 fake one... and tell her " ill love you till the last rose die"

-get 11 roses of the same colour and 1 of another colour... and tell her "that rose is a standout... just like you"

token effort for st patricks day!

ever since i was in dublin... and developed my taste for guinness... i have told myself that i will celebrate st patty's day! and i almost forgot...

thank goodness my uni mates didnt...

was walking to uni library to do some work where i saw some people wearing those leopracorn guinness hats... and then it just clicked... i needed one of those!

went to the uni pub... and asked the bartender how do i get one of those hats... 4 pints! and i get it... so i called another friend over... and 3 of us had 4 pints.. to get the hat! but my friend wanted it... so we agreed that we would get another 4 pints to get another hat(the other friend already had one given by his housemates). but by the time we got around to getting the second set of pints... they ran out of hats! had to settle for a blow up guinness pint... which was shite compared to the hat.. but i guess i have to be happy since no one else has it!

but trust my irish luck! my friends housemate had 1 spare hat to give out(her dad delivers barrels of alc to the local pubs so he gets all these freebies) ... so yeah! i had a hat!! everyone hat a hat... and happy!

so here we were.. all dressed up to go to the irish pub... while sippin on can of guinness on the way... by the time we reached the pub... the bouncers didnt let 2 of my friends in cause they saw them drinking in public(i threw my can away way earlier)... so we had to end up in a diff pub... nevertheless.. i ended up going there anyways just for a bit to listen to a bit of music!

so yeah.. st patty's day... live irish folk music...check! pints of guinness... check!do something stupid... check! get a bit of luck... check! had a great nite...check!

happy 250th st patrick's day people!

cold chinese new year...

first of all.. let me say, happy chinese new year.. no fancy post or what not planned out cause im less than 48 hours away from my exams in which im kinda screwed for...

if my mum was here.. she would be saying "choi choi choi!!!! *whacks my mouth* cannot say such things during chinese new year day"

so yeah. just wishing everyone a happy chinese new year, do eat loads on my behalf and collect loads of ang pow on my behalf as well!

and this is how i celebrate my chinese new year...

stuck at home studying for exams... gonna have a baguette sandwich for lunch me thinks..the boiler in the house broke down yesterday and apparently we will only get a new one on friday... so there is no heating right now... nor is there hot water to shower.. had to do it the old fashion way(boil hot water and put it in the sink, mix it with cold water to create... warm water, and use a small pail to mandi kerbau a bit.. however, no small pail was used this time.. instead.. a huge beer mug..! hahaha.. now thats a man's shower right there!)

either way, it was fun the first time around when i did it yesterday.. but i think when i go and boil my water today.. aint gonna be that fun anymore!

anyways, its back to studying for me, lots of info about beer industry to read up on(yes, thats one of my compulsory questions, worth 25% of one of my exam.. some may say i should nail that question cause.. cause its beer.... man.. aint easy thats what i can tell you)

then again.. been slacking off lots.. hahaha.. ah wells.. feels like im back in my 1st and 2nd year in IH.. which is definitey not a good sign in terms of exams and results...

a busy month ahead...

exams are around the corner... in 20 days to be precise... and am i prepared? nope... zilch.. havent started jack all...

my only consolation is that, for the 2 exams ahead, i actually attended almost all the classes so i actually know whats going on and what im meant to study, does that make it easier? i really hope so...

still on holidays but it all ends on sunday! and am flying off to paris on tuesday! with sheanee and zhen hong! cant wait...

in other news, got my tokina 11-16 lens that i really wanted so ill be bringin that along with me since i think my horizon is dead after that drop in egypt....

off to paris for a few days, then back to london for a day and a half to meet up with miss veronica yow!

funny note.. this is how small the world can get... sheanee is traveling around europe right now, and had a couple of days in vienna... and guess who she bumps into.. another tourist who so happens to be in vienna.. miss veronica yow.... now thats how small the world can get!

so yeah... ill be back the following monday, and its 9 days of hard hard hard core studying for my exam.. hopefully 9 days will be enough.. after all. i need to try to get an average of 64 to get my second class upper honours...

exams end on the 30th... finish my paper at 5pm.. somehow have to figure out how to pack my bags, and find a way to heathrow(mid nite bus or ) to arrive heathrow to catch my flight at 10am in the morning on the 31st.. flying back to malaysia!

yes... you did not just read the last part wrong.. i AM coming back to malaysia for 7 days.. to celebrate my mums big 6-0 birthday and also cause i reli need to celebrate.. its not even a want anymore.. its a neccesity to celebrate CNY considering i think i have missed out on it in 5 or 6 straight years...

then is back here... on the 8th.. would have skipped a week of classes.. so have to start going at my books hard cause my 2nd semester will just about determine everything...

wish me luck

all for a futton...

so here is the story of my long long day yesterday... it wasnt that long.. just seemed that way...

back story: had a drinking session with some friends about 2 months ago, in which a friend of mine passed out on the couch and puked on it (kinda like mu man on cc and ken's couch), so we chucked away the futton... we have been trying to get a new one from ikea but the nearest ikea is in bristol ( an hour and half away), and we cant buy it online and ask them to deliver... so my friend had the car yesterday.. and thought.. might as well just go and get it done and over with so we cant give him any more shit about puking on our couch...

left for bristol around noon.. got there.. kinda got lost but somehow managed to spot a huge asian groceries supermarket.... those who have been to exeter(basicaly none of you!) will know that its impossible to find any asian groceries (apart from instant noodles and soy sauce, and oyster sauce as well)... so we went full on, spent about 60 pounds on random stuff, tong yuen(the one with peanuts in it), lots of instant noodles, lots of sauces(chilli oil being the most important), udon noodles, bee hoon, soy milk, man tou, steam dumplings.. basicaly i went hardcore! even bought a 10 kilo rice!

after the asian mart, we manage to find the ikea.. went in and got the futton... and head off to bristol city...

bristol is basicaly the capital of the south west of uk. basicaly the biggest city in the south.. so thought we would check it out since there would be lots to check out..(way bigger than exeter). really nice city with a little river with some sail boats in it...

now this is how cold it is in uk right now.. its smack at 3 o clock in the afternoon and the water in the river.. well. isnt water.. it has turned into ice... while waiting for my friend's friend to meet up near the river... my friend and i started giving each other bets... such as.. "i give you 1000 pounds if you jump in that water now and swim for 5 minutes and so on and forth".. no i didnt take that bet.. even though i should have.. desperate for money now!

had lunch at this random jap place... upon entering the restaurant.. they had a little koi pond thing outside the restaurant.. there was this 2 hobos outside like.. the guy literally just took a fish out of the pond and started squeezing it ! and when we left.. the fish was facing upwards.. leaning sideways.. floating on the water.. not quite dead but getting there.. poor fish!

walked around bristol for a bit.. friend wanted to gamble so we went to the casino.. didnt last long tho cause my friend lost 40 pounds in like.. 5 minutes.. so we decided to head home...

while exiting bristol.. it was JAM! and we were quite shocked cause it was almost 7 , so the rush hour should have been cleared.. friend called his ex homestay mum and she told him that the highway home has been closed cause a lorry(the ones carrying new cars on it) flipped over and had an accident..(something like that).. so they closed the highway... my friends and i thought that it was impossible to get home now.. even with the country route cause everyone will be taking that route and it will take us 5 hours to get back.. so we found a service near by(service are like. those random stops near the highway), but we found a huge one with lots of restaurants and even a cinema..so my friends decided to watch a movie instead.. and we ended up watching... YES MAN

didnt have much expectations going into the movie.. and have to say.. i liked it.. really liked it.. so weird tho watching jim carrey.. cause never realised he is so old now! it was also good cause i got to watch lots of trailers of new chick flicks coming out! bridewars! confessions of a shopaholic and he is just not that into you! cant wait to download em! ahhaha

anywyas.. after the movie.. we decided to head off.. after all. its 2 hours after .. cant be that bad right.. or so we thought.. the jam was still there.. and we were stuck in it.. took up 3 hours 20 minutes to get back in the end.. and the jam was not that bad .. it was only one part that was stuck.. so we were still quite happy we watched the movie.. cause if we had tried to head back earlier.. the whole way would have been jam.. and we would have arrived the same time anyways...

got back at 130am.. so tired..

kinda makes me feel like.. it was my version of harold and kumar goes to whitecastle... jsut slightly different!
